Of Counsel

Alistair (“Ali”) Ward was born in Birmingham, Michigan, but grew up primarily in the New York metro region.  Ali has been practicing law since 1996 and is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.

Representative Cases

Ali is Of Counsel in the firm’s litigation section and has practiced exclusively in the area of insurance coverage for over two decades. Ali counsels clients, resolves coverage disputes, and has represented foreign and domestic insurers in state and federal courts throughout the country at both the trial court and appellate court levels.  Ali’s practice encompasses a broad variety of coverage issues, including those arising out of first-party and third-party claims involving environmental, legacy pollution, health hazard, construction defect, malpractice, employment discrimination, auto, personal and advertising injury, oil and gas, and indemnity claims.

Ali routinely counsels clients and resolves complex coverage matters involving multi-year trigger and allocation, additional insured and contractual indemnity, and extra-contractual liability issues. In addition to providing her clients with post-claim advice, alternative dispute resolution, and litigation and appellate services, Ali also counsels clients regarding effective claims handling practices and provides underwriting assistance

Education

Ali graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992 with an A.B. in Russian Language & Literature and Russian Area Studies. After acting as a translator primarily for oil and gas companies, Ali attended Tulane University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif and Phi Delta Phi. While in law school, Ali was a recipient of a Tulane Kohlmeyer Merit Scholarship, obtained her Environmental Law Certificate, and was a student-attorney for Tulane’s Environmental Law Clinic.
