Attie B. Carville

Attie Babin Carville was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has been practicing law since 2002. She is licensed in the State of Louisiana, and also has admission in the following federal courts: United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and all U.S. District Courts in Louisiana. Her practice focuses on insurance coverage, counseling, and litigation.

Representative Cases

Attie has expertise in analyzing and litigating insurance coverage issues arising from a broad range of claims, including construction defect, pollution, automobile liability, professional liability, additional insured status, contractual indemnity, and extracontractual/bad faith liability. As part of her practice, she frequently prepares coverage opinions and coverage position letters on behalf of insurers.

Attie has experience litigating both first-party claims and third-party claims. She has represented insurers in cases involving claims under commercial general liability, professional liability, automobile liability, uninsured/underinsured motorist, homeowners, workmen’s compensation/employer’s liability, marine and excess/umbrella policies in courts throughout Louisiana and other states. Ms. Carville has been successful in obtaining judgments in favor of insurers at the trial court level and in handling appeals and oral argument before Louisiana Courts of Appeal.

Education

Attie attended the University of Texas at Austin, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1998. She earned her J.D. and Bachelor of Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2002, where she was on the Dean’s List and received awards for excellence in Appellate Advocacy, Torts, Security Devices and The Legal Profession.
