Charlotte practices Civil Litigation, Insurance defense, Premises Liability, Product Liability, Trucking Litigation, Appellate.

Originally from Austin, Charlotte has made Houston her home for the past decade.  She is admitted to practice in all Texas state and federal district courts, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  In her fifteen years of practice, Charlotte has historically focused on the defense of personal injury and wrongful death actions arising from onshore and offshore accidents in the energy and transportation industries, as well as the prosecution and defense of significant oil and gas commercial disputes.  As a result of her attention to detail and her foresight, Charlotte has gravitated toward appellate work and is frequently called upon to act as in-trial appellate counsel, as well as post-judgment appellate counsel.

Charlotte earned her J.D., cum laude, from St. Mary’s University, where she was a member of Phi Delta Phi and the John M. Harlan Society.

Representative Cases

Appellate
 Ongoing appellate counsel in serious personal injury action arising from all-terrain vehicle accident
– Ongoing appellate counsel in insurance coverage action filed by major oil company, arising out of catastrophic refinery incident
– Appellate counsel at trial level in non-compete action in federal court.  Responsible for pretrial motions, preservation of error, and jury charge.
– Appellate counsel in commercial suit arising out of non-payment of mineral royalties.  Responsible for trial court level briefing, following by successful defense of favorable judgment in appellate court.

Non-Appellate
– Representation of oilfield service companies in all manner of death and personal injury litigation arising out of onshore and offshore accidents
– Ongoing representation of trucking companies and maritime interests in transportation-related cases
– Representation of property owners in premises liability cases ranging from slip and fall accidents to inadequate security claims
