Born in Washington D.C., Jackson moved to New Orleans in 2003 where he earned his B.A. in International Relations from Tulane University. After graduating from Tulane, Jackson served ten years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of major, completed two combat deployments to Afghanistan, and conducted crisis response operations in Europe and Africa. He left active duty in 2015 to return to New Orleans and attend Tulane University School of Law. While in law school, he was the 2016 and 2017 Tulane Moot Court Intraschool Trial Champion, the 2018 Tulane Moot Court Coach of the Year, received the James Wysocki Award for outstanding trial advocacy, and served as a student practitioner in the Domestic Violence Clinic.
