Lambert has been involved in transactional matters related to the oil and gas industry in the Gulf South since 1979. His experience particularly emphasizes title examination with respect to oil and gas exploration and production. He has substantial experience in negotiating and reviewing contracts and other due diligence activities in connection with acquisitions and divestitures of properties situated onshore in the Gulf region and on the federal outer continental shelf.

From 1979 to 2006 he served as an adjunct professor at Loyola University School of Law teaching Oil and Gas Law. His involvement with a subcommittee of the American Petroleum Institute resulted in his drafting the model form Shelf OCS Operating Agreement. Likewise, as a subcommittee member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, he assisted in the drafting of the model form Deepwater OCS Operating Agreement. His participation in these industry-driven organizations has provided him with a unique understanding of OCS contracting specifics.
